Getting to Hogwarts
To get to Hogwarts you need to visit Platform nine and three-quarters, which is at King's Cross station in London. You walk through the barrier between platform nine and ten to get to this very special and magical platform. Don't be scared that you'll just crash into the metal barrier, think positively. The train always leaves the platform at 11.00 am on September 1st to start the new term at Hogwarts. Make sure you're there because there are no other services until the Christmas holidays, Easter holidays or when the train leaves King's Cross at the end of the Hogwarts school year to pick up the students from Hogwarts. If you can't get through the barrier and are unsure what to do, remember don't fly an enchanted Ford Anglia unless you want to get into serious trouble! Use your common sense and send an owl or wait for someone to come and collect you.
Once on the platform you'll be greeted by the Hogwarts Express. The Hogwarts Express is a scarlet steam train that takes you to Hogwarts. This is the only train to go to Hogwarts. It is seperated into different compartments, which are private so that you can talk to your friends. Remember not to go to the front of the train unless you are a prefect. This is their own special section of the train. The only grown ups on the train are the driver and the witch who wheels around the tea trolley selling refreshments such as Chocolate Frogs.
